Serious
About Sunnah - Orlando area Women
[For Sisters Only!]
Are
you a woman living in the Orlando, Florida area? Interested in
Islam? Join us, as we study and explore the deen (way of life) of
Islam! We are serious about following the Sunnah (traditions of Prophet
Muhammad). We gather together only for the sake of Allah, swt, to
support one another in truth and council in patience. Posts should be
in accordance with Islam as taught by As-Salaf As-Saalih (the pious
predecessors of the first three generations after the revelation of The
Quran).
Topics
include khutbas, articles, recipes, aqeeqahs, health, pregnancy,
childrearing, homeschooling and more. Local Islamic activities and
issues are of special interest.
The moderators attend Masjid Al-Ihssan and
Masjid As-Sunnah (both in Orlando), but any woman from the Orlando,
Florida area (i.e. Winter Park, Maitland, etc.) is welcome!
Non-Muslims
may join, but only to inquire sincerely about Islam (no
prostelytizing). However, this group's primary purpose is to strengthen
the deen of Orlando area sisters, by clinging to the sunnah with our
molar teeth.
WE
ARE SERIOUS ABOUT THE SUNNAH and want to gather with others who are,
too!

Muttaqun
Homeschool Association - Orlando
[For Sisters Only]
Muttaqun
Homeschool Association is a group of Orlando area Muslimahs
and their homeschooled children. Although older siblings are always
welcome, most of our children are elementary age younger, and thus so
is the focus of our activities.
Insha'Allah, we do make efforts to separate the boys over 7 yrs old
from the girls. Insha'Allah, we do not plan events with music,
forbidden images, or shirk. For instance, we do not have birthday or
thanksgiving celebrations.
Our
events include field trips, physical education classes,
play dates, arts and crafts, and special topics as our members organize
them.
Most of our events are free or a few dollars per child. Occasional
field trips may have extra costs. You are not obligated to attend any
event; you pick and choose which events you are interested in.
In
addition, insha'Allah this egroup is used as a support
group, in which we discuss the various homeschool methods,
requirements, and share our resources. We are open to suggestions for
new events and we encourage our members to volunteer to host or plan an
event at least once a year.
Annual dues are $20 per family. You do not have to be a homeschooler or
Muslim to join or participate, however, our guidelines are Quran and
Sunnah.
We
strive for a fitnah/stress free environment and ask members
to respect minor differences of opinions and not engage in debate over
these matters in this egroup or at our events. Our focus is our
children. May Allah swt bless our endeavor. Ameen!
