Trials
According to Quran and Sunnah
The Noble Qur'an Al-'Ankaboot 29:2-3
Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: "We believe," and will not be tested.
And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allâh will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allâh knows all that before putting them to test).
Hadith - Al-Tirmidhi 1562, Narrated
Sa'd
When the Prophet (peace be upon him) was asked
which people suffered the greatest affliction, he replied, "The prophets,
then those who come next to them, then those who come next to them. A man
is afflicted in keeping his religion. If he is firm in his religion his trial
is severe, but if there is weakness in his religion it is made light for
him, and it continues like that till he walks on the earth having no
sin."
[Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and Darimi transmitted it, and Tirmidhi said this is a hasan sahih tradition]
