Do These Fundamentalists Represent us?

...........from Mohammad Khalid
Today, the Muslim Fundamentalists (so-called or real?) are emerging as anti-West and anti-US forces in the world. The U.S. and the West consider them a real threat to the world peace and are worried about their activities. But are they really anti-West or anti-Capitalist forces emerging in the Muslim world? Do they deserve any support by the masses in Muslim countries? Can they claim to be representatives of Muslim masses? These are the issues we must ponder upon before deciding our faith in these emerging elements who are gaining overdue projection in the world media which ultimately is resulting in their popularity in the Muslim World.

The history tells that these fundamentalist were never anti-West and anti-Capitalism. In fact, during the Cold War era, they always stood shoulder-to-shoulder with these Western ideologies, against whom they claim to be fighting today. By declaring the concept of equality as un-Islamic and describing capitalism as closer to Islam, they strengthened the hands of US imperialism in its cold war against former Soviet Union. In fact, the Capitalist West nurtured the non-sense ideologies and misinterpretation of Islam of these illiterate Mullahs against the "God-less system" during the Cold War. The West knew their price and kept them feeding directly or some times indirectly in their so-called JIHAD.

Soviet aggression in Afghanistan provided the Capitalists a golden opportunity to engage all their Islamic stooges throughout the world in a practical JIHAD against that UN-ISLAMIC' ideology. ( Such JIHAD was not encouraged in Palestine and other parts of the world). A military dictator in Pakistan, who had come to power after executing a popular and patriot leader, was made Sipah-E-Salar or the Commander-in-Chief of that so-called JIHADIS. All puppet Muslim leaders of Middle East, including the Khadim-ul-Hurmain-ul-Sharifain, were instructed to despatch fundamentalist volunteers to fight for liberation of Afghanistan'. Worth billions of dollars' arms and ammunition were supplied to these BROTHERS OF THE WEST' free of cost. The Pakistani usurper and dictator became the linkage of fundamentalist Jihadies and Western World. The Generals of Pakistan and these Jihadi leaders became billionaires by smuggling of arms in open markets and drug businesses.

Apart from their shameful role in Afghan Jihad, which was in fact a war between Soviet and US systems, these so-called champions of Islam have disgraceful history in their respective national politics. They not only opposed the liberation and independence movements in most of Muslim countries , and indirectly strengthened the hands of colonial and imperialist powers, but opposed any liberal and progressive ideology to change the fate of Muslim masses and remove the menace of poverty. Take the example of South Asian region where majority of Muslim religious leaders were against creation of Pakistan. They went to the extent of issuing Fatwas against Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. When Pakistan was created with Allah's blessing and as result of Muslim nation's relentless struggle, they started opposing any progressive ideology to make the country developed and self-sufficient. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto's hanging, by a fundamentalist military ruler, was joylessly celebrated by these blood thirsty hounds. In Indonesia , during late sixties, they murdered millions of Muslims just for supporting Suekarno's progressive ideas. Their hatred against Kamal Attaturk is still evident in their speeches and writings.

In fact, the interpretation of Islam these Mullahs presented was totally different from the real essence of Islam which is a simple, progressive and enlightened religion. The progressive leaders of the Muslim world, some of them mentioned above, wanted to follow that progressive path of Islam which was not only the need of hour but a demand of Muslim masses. Through their misinterpretation of Islam these Mullahs created a permanent polarization in the Muslim societies the world over. This polarization is still going on.

Nevertheless, the people of Muslim countries have also taught them good lessons. While they accepted Mullah's role in the mosques and religious affairs, in the political field these so-called champions of Islam became non-entities . Apart from a few exceptions, where they really stood with the oppressed people and opposed usurpers and tyrants, these fundamentalists faced humiliating defeats in the elections. Their overall proportion in the parliaments of majority of Muslim countries was almost negligible.

Today, these mercenaries of Capitalism and opponents of Islamic concept of equality and justice are emerging as Muslim Jihadis' and anti-West Mujahideen. They are trying to befool Muslim masses with their anti-American slogans. But Muslims know their real faces. They know that fundamentalists struggle against West is in fact a war between two Old Bed-fellows of Cold War' era. The real reason for their annoyance against the West is not its anti-Islamic or anti-third world policies. Rather it is the end of their long patronage by the Western Powers. After the end of Soviet Union, Capitalism does not need their services, their Fatwas against socialism and communism are no more required , their role as fighters against Soviet system is finished. The West is not willing to spend its tax payers money on these mercenaries. After being thrown by the West as used condoms, they have turned against their former masters.

They vow to destroy West as they did with the Soviet Union. But the Soviet Union was destroyed by a well planned scheme of the Western World in which their role was of a gang of illiterate and ignorant fighters who did not even know whose war they were actually fighting. They kept thinking that they were fighting for Allah but in fact they were fighting for Western Capitalism. And Allah is never with those people who do not know what the realities are. Isn't it height of disloyalty and dishonesty that they want to fight against the West with those weapons which they got free of charge from the same gurus?

You have written so much yet it leaves the reader still unaware of your point and who you are really talking about.

Perhaps its better that we don't understand.

More importantly to MY mind - the writers of such apologetic, farcical and downright deceptive drivel, Do THESE

Frankly, not only am I amazed at the treacherous "spin" or interpretation given to events, but the BLATANT contra-islam thinking therein.

I mean, yeah - go ahead and rebrand Islam to what its opponents will be pleased with, you yapping lapdogs, I just wonder what the price was/is/will
be for selling out.

Wallahu musta'an!

sheeeeesh.

And I totally agree with Anonymous -- sometimes such pointless ramblings need not be dignified by a point by point rebuttal.
