Asalaamu alaikum. I am interested in hearing different stories from mothers (and fathers) about how they introduced their daughters to hijaab, and later niqaab, insha Allah. I personally have a method that I believe in, insha Allah, but think this is something that might be beneficial to sisters and on which there is not a lot of information. I am working on an article on the subject, and need more research, insha Allah. Please submit your stories or comments, insha Allah, to my email at [email protected]
JazakAllah.

Asalamoalikum,
The issue really is not Hijaab. The issue for All Muslims (mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, and even rulers) is Qur'an from Allah or not? If the answer is Yes it is 100% from Allah, Hijaab is no issue at all. If the answer is No, it is not from Allah (Wala'yaz be Allah) then this is where the talk should start.

My daughter is very young, 20 months, so I'm not really sure my self. But I have some other thoughts. What about our sons? Why is there so much pressure on the girls? They need to learn that they should be the ones out front taking most of the heat. And excuse me, I know from experience, that that is what Hijab can bring you in western societies.
I really am tired of seeing a completely veiled woman, walking with a man who is apparently her husband wearing shorts or jeans, a Western style shirt and a baseball cap.
But the essence of the matter is that Inshallah, and pray every day that if the children see the parents LIVING Islam every day, and are brought up happily and healthily they will want to immulate them in matters of dress etc.
