i am writing a research paper on this topic. as a future teacher i feel that the events of 9/11 can not be fully understood without putting them into full context. we should examine american policies that fueled acceptance for 9/11. we should make room for dissent in the classroom without fear of being called unpatriotic. students should hear all sides of the issue. in researching for this topic, i realize how much the right wing media has distorted the tennants of Islam. i believe that by dehumanizing and vilifying Muslim people, the USA has been able to justify their war. while i am catholic (christian) i am a human being first as are all people regardless of religion.
what do you think schools should teach about 9/11? how do you think history books will be written about 9/11? if you are Muslim, have your teachers treated you differently? do they expect you to answer on behalf of all muslims? why do you think 9/11 happened? why do you think so many people in the world celebrated the events of 9/11? i am trying to view the big picture and learn from others perspectives. i do not ask to judge.
finally, if you or your children are in american schools, what are they being taught about 9/11, muslims, or the war in iraq? how did the schools handle the anniversary? with a patriotic assembly?did you go? did you feel uncomfortable within your school? your communities?

There are some things that are off about September 11. Some things to consider:
1.New York has one of the largest if not the
largest population of Muslims in the
United States.
2. There were people from 80 different
countries in the world trade center including
Muslim countries.
3. If someone is going to kill a bunch of
people why would they leave evidence behind
that it was they that did it? (Like an I.D.)
How would this survive the fire?
4. Why kill and then leave no demands or
explanation on why it was done, or what they
wished to accomplish? Where is the ransom
note?
5. How do we know 100% that the people who
did this were Muslim?
6. How do we know that the people in the
I.D.'s shown to us on the news were actually
of the people who did this?
7. Has anyone ever asked a "Muslim exstremist",
what they think about a baby or a pregnant
woman or an elderly person or a handicapped
person being killed? What about innocent
people?
8. Did the so-called hijackers have any friends
or family living in the U.S.? I have many more
questions. Can anyone else think of some more?
I SMELL A RAT!!!!
