Asalaam ailkum,
I was looking up something on www.islamiccity.org. Someone posted a question about niqab, and the writers who answered the question siad it is not allowed to pray in niqab. I had never heard this before and would like to know if this is correct or incorrect.
Thanks

You have to keep it on in prayer if there are men around. Not unnecesarily though. No worries. It's not like men should be allowed to see your face cos you're doing something for ALLAH! hope this helps

I have asked this question a few times to Imams and have always been told that it is only necessary to remove it in Masjid Al-Haraam, Mecca. I can't tell you if this is correct, because I don't have any proof, and the Imams I asked were a little perplexed when I first asked the question. I have read hadith about Aisha radhi allahu anhuma, but she only refers to drawing it over her face as men approached, then leaving it open again as they passed, and again this was during Hajj.
