Does anyone know if any ayaas or hadeeth that deal with the way Muslims should treat new Muslims. This can be in regard to zakaat, marriage, or any other issue.

Yes please refer to Sahih Muslim book of ahadith vol.4). In it there are what stipulates the relationships of those who trust of rights are to be amended. Muslim toward muslim, muslim toward parents, muslim towards neighbor, and of the things according to the laws of islam that are not to be fostered such as (fault-finding, suspicion, humiliation of one another, the not cuting relation with fellow muslim more than three days,to not oppress, etc).

If you are a new Muslim you will probably be
disappointed by both some actions of the commnity
you left, as well as the community you are joining.
True love and acceptance comes from only Allah (saw.) Having said that, it is great that you are trying to educate those around you.
Remember also, that Shatan will try to use whatever means he can to disturb you. Try to focus on positive aspects of the people you encounter and pray for patience.
You might consider reading a book by CS Lewis called the Screwtape letters. It is actually about a Christian convert, but any tolerant reader can find some insightful and sometimes amusing ways that Shatan tries to shake us from the path.

Through a chain of events since 9/11 and my own personal life I have found my path to Islam. It has been a slow but steady one. There has been so many things I want to ask but have a limited amount of human resources. Yes there are abundance of books many of which I have bought but to draw on a human experience reinforces that knowledge. I am looking for a sister who willing to converse and email with me with help. I attend the mosque on Mynders as much as possible. I live in Ripley TN. I am not married nor plans for marriage this is a step I take on my own accord. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
