Why? Well, to let everybody know: because I prefer by far a man being "coveted" also by other women than one who's not attractive to anyone (including, not to myself!!!)
And then, I also need my private time just for myself, which is not guaranteed in the "monogamous version" of marriage where people always have to "stick together", for the good or for the worse ...
And I think it improves relations if there is a bit of change ... otherwise you can foresee the "end of the story" from the beginning! (A little jealousy does not harm, provided their is overall fairness shown between the sisters and, first of all, by the husband, respecting the Islamic values conscienciously)
Last but not least, and this may be unusual, I would willingly "obey" my husband (meaning I love him so I would not object) in his wish to marry another ... because he also loves me and if he shows his love to me, his love for another wife will not take anything away from me ... we cannot "count" love in numbers and figures ...

Oh, I just forgot ... I would by far prefer marry a man who is pro-polygyny than any other ... I think it's much more admirable and meritorious to marry 2 providing fully for them and holding responsibility, as opposed to the one having several girlfriends (one after another or all together, who casres) ... obeying formally the principle of "monogamy" but as a matter of fact just obeying his wishes, not Allah's wishes, and bearing no responsibility whatsoever (although in "monogamous" disguise) ...

Allahu Akbar.
This we will only understand when we see the good coming from this form of life. But as the Qor'an says Islam is for people who are thinking so think about it, please! You will see it is true.

Why no body doesn`t talk about the other aspect of it:Islam doesn`t allow a man to marry a second wife without asking to first wife????here, you`re giving info about Islam but you have mistakes,i mean "flaw".. and you are responsible for it..i hope you know what that means! Please read more and then explain about it.In Quran,it`s always said that, only one marriage is better and in related verses,Allah says,"when you leave a woman and marry another one..",not"when u marry second woman.. ".Can u understand the difference?i hope..
I hope, someday,we can introduce Islam truly, but first WE must learn! Allah, awake us und forgive us..

Please everyone bear in mind the times that the Q'uran was written. Muhammad's understanding of Allah's words were those of his times and circumstances. For example, EVERYONE living in the desert had to cover their faces and bodies because it was a necessity in the desert, not because of modesty or God's will. We must not confuse religion with traditions.

I am a witness that you are indeed a liar.
Bring your proof if you are truthful.

RE:Post Oct 13,2001
The Qur'an was not written it is revelation from Allah. THe Prophet saw was the final Prophet and Messenger of Allah swt.
And We have not sent you except as a giver of glad tidings and a warner to all mankind, but most of men know not. 34:28
The Messenger saw was sent to ALL mankind.
Indeed in Messenger of Allah you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much. 33:21
It is not fitting for a mumin (believing man) or mumina (believing woman) when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision: if anyone disobeys Allah and His Apostle he is indeed strayed on a manifestly wrong path. 33:36
May Allah forgive and guide us all.
With love
Your sister in Islam
