Islam allows men to marry up to four wives. Why is it any different for a male to have five or six wives if he can support them all equally and treat them all the same? Also, the world today has increasingly become concerned with the health issues of sexually transmitted diseases, specifically the AIDS virus, and I am curious if the polygamus nature of Islam has been affected by this in any way?

Dear Andrea ([email protected]):
Islam allows ONLY upto "4" wives at a given time, if ALL the requirements of the Shari'ah laws (from Allah in Al-Qur'an) are met.
Where did you come-up with "Five" or "Six" wives??

hi, Andrea
Islam is very well aware of health factors that
is why specific requirements ought to be met by
individuals when seeking marraige (as the men
should seek out chaste women, not the women who
sling themselves around and about). And let's say
a past prostitute becomes muslim; well upon her
acceptance of the Truth and openly acknowledging
that none has the right to be worshipped except
ALLAH and that Muhammad is the last messenger of
ALLAH sent for the guidance of mankind then she
accepts this honourably and sincerely all of her
past will at that very moment be forgiven her and
she will now strive to become of those who let
Islam dress them (their inner selves and outer selves)and learn to be obedient to her LORD
CREATOR who when in her depths of darkness HE
was well-acquianted with her and finally she
sought HIM out and freed herself from all forms
of shirk (calling on other than ALLAH or even
perhaps claim the call to something in order to
get closer to ALLAH) to which in Islam we go through nothing to relate to our LORD who created
us the first time and so shall HE raise us up on
the Day of Account (Judgement)in the matter of our
performance and intentions. So in Islam we trust
in ALLAH with due trust and whatever is meant for
someone surely it will reach them, and whatever
was not meant for someone no one can bring it about except by the Will of ALLAH. We need must
ask of ALLAH for all the good we may ever want
in this life and for our hereafter. In Islam we
also get to a point where we can't sweat the small
things. Yes I said small to 'aids' because we
do not think of things like and how we did before.
We take Islam and live Islam. Our husbands make mistakes and wrong choices we as women trust in
ALLAH and pray for correctness of our affairs. It's really as simple as that. We do not fear
ailments nor death yet we do pray for the protection of ailments and death- we are of those
who care to meet our LORD CREATOR.
